Kirsten

1989 White Body Kirsten Doll

This really is one of my favorite Kirsten rehabs to date! This doll came to me in disarray with thinning hair, a giant stain on her cheek, and age spots on her cloth torso. Kirsten needed a lot of love, but I could tell that she would be beautiful by her very unusual turquoise eyes and peaches and cream skin tone.

First, she got a very good scrub down to clean the dirt off the vinyl and her torso was removed to clean off the age spots in gentle laundry soap. After a wash, she was restrung.

While that was happening, I began the long process of removing the large stain on her cheek. I used a benzoyl peroxide cream and sun treatment for about a week. As a result, her cheek paint had been removed, so I repainted both cheeks to match the original cheek color.

Since her eyes were silvering, I took them out and repainted them to the original color. After reinstalling the eyes, I took off her grimy and thin wig and replaced it with a very high quality vintage German-made wig that looked virtually identical to the original.

All done! This show-stopping Kirsten is ready for display!
