I haven’t written a while, but I’ve been busy restoring! It took me a while to restore this next doll, she is a 1989 Samantha with the very hard to find slate eye color. When I received her, she was absolutely filthy, many of her lashes had either fallen out or broken off (which is so very common with the slate eyed dolls), hair that was thin and frizzy, and she had some major marks to her body.

In the end I had to replace the entire wig because it just wasn’t salvageable. And since slate eyes are so hard to come by, I had to repair the eyes she had, which was no easy task! The entire lash band needed to be replaced because the lashes were so damaged. Body stains were treated with oxy in the sun, and then finally I restored her makeup to her original coloring.

In the end, it was hard to let her go! She is by far a unique and stunning doll!
