Molly

Dreamer Molly – Late 1987

If you have never heard of a Dreamer doll, these are the rare few that were made in late 1987 with white bodies. The only dolls from 1987 like this were Molly and Kirsten. They have the sweetest upward glance and truly some of my favorites in my collection! About a year ago I sold my only Dreamer Molly and since then I had been looking to replace her and fill my collection gap.

I rescued this beautiful doll from eBay and there was a lot of work to be done. First, she had a replacement blonde Truly Me wig, lots of black markings on her face, missing eyelashes, and tons of stains on her limbs, as well as chewed fingers. She was a hot mess, but really a diamond in the rough.

First I popped out her eyes to repair the lashes. I removed some from a donor doll and then glued them in place. While the eyes were out, I removed the stains on her face with days and days of heat treatment under a UV lamp. Same went for her limbs. I restrung her body with a new arm from another early white body doll, then added her eyes back in. I had to add blush back to her cheeks using a custom blend of colored chalk pastels. To finish off her restoration, a dear friend of mine found me the perfect Gotz wig to give to Molly. She looks amazing now and so close to original!
